Headlight Restoration in Chino

Yellow or cloudy headlights? We restore your headlight lenses for a clearer look. Drop off your vehicle at our Chino location, or have us come to you with mobile service in Chino, Chino Hills, and nearby cities.

Clearer Headlights Without the Cost of Replacement

Headlight restoration clears away the yellow, cloudy layer on the outside of your headlights. Sunlight and daily use can make the lenses look dull over time and block some of the light. If your headlights can be restored, we can make them clearer without replacing the whole headlight.

Benefits of Headlight Restoration:

  • More Light Can Shine Through: Cloudy lenses can block some of the light from your headlights. Clearing away that layer helps more light shine through, which may help you see better at night.

  • A Fresh, Clean Look: Yellow headlights can make a car look older. Clearer lenses help the front of your car look cleaner and better cared for.

  • Costs Less Than New Headlights: New headlights can be expensive to buy and install. If the problem is on the outside of the lens, restoration can be a less costly choice.

  • Know What Can Be Fixed: Some problems need other repairs. Cracks, water inside the headlights, or damage on the inside may not be fixed by restoring the outside.

Send us clear photos of both headlights to get started. We’ll take a look and explain what may be possible. At your appointment, we’ll check them in person before giving final approval for the service.

We start by checking your headlights and the service you choose. The steps and protective finish depend on the condition of your lenses and how long you want the protection to last.

  • Clean and Tape Around the Lights: We clean the lenses and tape around the edges to help protect nearby paint and trim.

  • Sand in Several Steps: We remove the cloudy layer with sandpaper, moving from rougher to finer grits. Depending on the damage, we may start as low as 240 grit and work up to 2000 or 3000 grit.

  • Apply the Right Finish: Based on your service, we use one of three options:

    • Polish the lenses, then apply a ceramic coating made for headlights with UV protection.

    • Apply a UV coating over the sanding marks. This clears up the lenses, while the sanded surface helps the coating stick.

    • Spray on a special clear coat made for headlights.

Before we begin, we’ll explain which option fits your headlights and the protection you want. Afterward, we’ll share care instructions so the finish has time to dry and cure properly.

Caring for Your Freshly Restored Headlights

Your new protective finish needs time to harden. A few simple care steps can help it last and keep your headlights looking clear.

  • Keep Them Dry for 72 Hours: Avoid rain, sprinklers, and splashing water for the first three days.

  • Wait 7 to 14 Days Before Washing: Let the finish cure before washing your car. We’ll give you the right waiting period for the coating we apply.

  • Wash Gently After Curing: Use car wash soap, a soft wash mitt, and a clean microfiber towel to dry. Avoid rough brushes, scrub pads, and harsh cleaners on the lenses.

  • Avoid Strong Water Pressure: Don’t hold a pressure washer nozzle close to your headlights or aim a strong spray directly at the coating’s edges.

  • Add Protection Every 3 to 4 Months: We recommend applying a ceramic sealant every three to four months to help protect the finish. Ask us about this option at your appointment.

  • Schedule a Yearly Checkup: We’ll check that the coating is holding up well and look for early signs of wear, peeling, or cloudiness.

Don’t use headlight polish or a home restoration kit over the new finish. If you notice a change, contact us before trying to fix it yourself. Follow the care instructions we give you for your chosen service.

Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ

How long does a Ceramic Coating application take?

The process typically takes 8 to 24 hours, depending on the size of the vehicle, the number of coating layers, and the level of paint preparation required. Vehicles receiving paint correction before coating will take longer.

What are the benefits of Ceramic Coating?

Ceramic coating provides long-term paint protection and enhances gloss, hydrophobicity, and durability. Key benefits include:

  • Superior water and dirt repellency (hydrophobic properties)

  • UV protection to prevent fading and oxidation

  • Resistance to chemical stains and contaminants

  • Enhanced gloss and depth of paint clarity

  • Easier maintenance and reduced need for waxing

How long does Ceramic Coating last?

The durability of ceramic coating depends on the type of coating applied and how well it’s maintained. Our professional-grade ceramic coatings typically last between 2 to 5 years, with proper care.

Will Ceramic Coating make my car scratch-proof?

Ceramic coating is scratch-resistant, not scratch-proof. It helps prevent light swirl marks and minor scratches, but deep scratches from rocks or improper washing can still occur.

Can Ceramic Coating be applied to any vehicle?

Yes, ceramic coating can be applied to cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, and even RVs. It works on paint, glass, plastic trim, and wheels for full-vehicle protection.

Does my car need Paint Correction before Ceramic Coating?

If your paint has swirl marks, oxidation, or minor scratches, paint correction is highly recommended before applying ceramic coating. This ensures the coating bonds to a flawless surface and enhances the gloss.

How do I maintain my car after Ceramic Coating?

To maximize the lifespan of ceramic coating:

  • Use a pH-neutral car shampoo (avoid harsh detergents)

  • Wash with microfiber mitts and the two-bucket method

  • Avoid automatic car washes with abrasive brushes

  • Apply a ceramic booster spray every few months for extra protection

Can I wax my car after getting Ceramic Coating?

Waxing is not necessary after ceramic coating because the coating already provides superior protection and shine. However, ceramic-safe maintenance sprays can enhance the coating’s performance.

Does Ceramic Coating protect against rock chips?

No, ceramic coating does not stop rock chips or deep scratches. For physical impact protection, a paint protection film (PPF) is recommended instead.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Cash, Debit/Credit, Zelle, Venmo, ApplePay, PayPal, AfterPay, and CashApp. Checks are not accepted.
